Layout Suggestions

Problem

After loading media, users may not know which layout works best for their content’s mix of aspect ratios and types.

Solution

After a media scan completes, FlexGrid analyzes the content and presents an intelligent layout recommendation. The suggestion appears as a non-intrusive banner and auto-dismisses after 10 seconds if not acted upon.

Tier Availability

  • Free: Not available.
  • Plus / Pro: Post-scan layout recommendations with auto-dismiss.

UI Flow

  1. Load a folder of media.
  2. After scanning, a suggestion banner appears (e.g., “Your content is mostly landscape — try Landscape Theater”).
  3. Click the suggestion to apply it, or let it auto-dismiss after 10 seconds.

Known Limitations

  • Recommendations depend on aspect ratio detection, which runs progressively. Very early suggestions may be less accurate.
  • Auto-dismisses after 10 seconds; no way to recall a dismissed suggestion.
