Problem

Live performers and installers need hardware control over FlexGrid without touching the keyboard or mouse.

Solution

MIDI Learn maps any MIDI button, knob, or fader to FlexGrid actions. Connect a MIDI controller, enter Learn mode, move a control, then assign it to an action (scene recall, shuffle, advance, grid size, volume, etc.).

UI Flow

  1. Connect a MIDI controller (USB or network MIDI).
  2. Open Settings > MIDI Control.
  3. Click “MIDI Learn” next to any action.
  4. Move the desired hardware control; FlexGrid captures the CC/note.
  5. Save the mapping. Hardware controls are active immediately.

Pro only.

Known Limitations

  • Only MIDI CC messages and Note On/Off are supported; SysEx is not.
  • One mapping per control; duplicate assignments overwrite the previous binding.
